My old Home Page that stopped working was [http:/www.google.com/ *******]. The latter asterisks included some numbers, letters, symbols and an equal sign.

After I changed that Home Page to [https:/www.google.com] google search began working correctly and I could switch google Instant Predictions back on (where it was for years).

It seems either solution works to fix the blank search page problem. It works now on both my computers. I still don't know what changed all of a sudden to cause this on both my computers.

That's what I thought at first. Spent hours uninstalling things, running virus checks, etc.
But, alas, it is not us. It is Google. Someone messed up.

Seems alot better now. Not experiencing the problem anymore. Whew!

Google had an issue for a few days with some browsers not responding to search queries, they did an update about 48 hours ago that fixed it.

I don't know what they mean by a fake Google search page.
I had the original Google URL (that I loaded over a year ago) locked into 3 computers Internet Options as my Home page (and as a new tab page). They were unchanged, but just stopped working reliably last week.

    Hi,
Well websites are faked all the time to gather sign in info or worse
Every windows security patch has had a definition of remote code execution attached to it.
