    Add-on (app) to control cookies

Does anyone know of an add-on or app to control cookies on the PC? So far I was using the native feature of Firefox, but lately it's giving me trouble. So I started thinking, there's got to be some add-on that can tell me what each cookie does and deletes automatically those that I don;t want to keep, while protecting those that I do want to keep. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion! This add-on though does not do what I really want. What I want is to schedule automatic deletion (or rather non-deletion) for some particular cookies, not just all cookies associated with a website.

What I mean is that I have Firefox set up to delete all cookies on exit. At the same time, some cookies I want to keep, for example the sevenforums cookie that controls the interface skin. For this purpose, Firefox allows for exemptions. Entering sevenforums.com into the exemption list, I'm allowing cookies from this site, meaning they are not going to be deleted with all other cookies as I close the browser.

What I want now is one step forward. I want to know what each individual cookie does. For example, I'd like to keep a Google cookie that sets the amount of search results to 100 rather than the default 10. But Google leaves many more cookies on my PC. Sometimes, the cookie I want get deleted and sometimes not, but other Google cookies remain. If I have five cookies from Google, I have no way of knowing which is the one that controls the number of search results. I'd like to find an app that can tell me that.

In addition to the suggestion for Cookie Controller already mentioned, the native Firefox cookie management actually works pretty well.
Another one is Better Privacy, for LSO cookies.
And SuperAntiSpyware is good at picking up non-malware tracking cookies.

As you mention that you're having "trouble" with Firefox, the problem might be in your profile, where most issues originate.
So, you might want to try the steps here:
    Standard Diagnostic - Firefox
    or
    Firefox - Fix Problems

    Hope this helps,
