New
  • On macOS, WebGL power preferences allow non-performance-critical applications and applets to request the low-power GPU instead of the high-power GPU in multi-GPU systems
  • Improved Windows 10 integration: your Firefox theme now matches your OS Dark / Light mode
  • WebExtensions now run in their own process on Linux
  • Faster tab switching in the majority of cases for our macOS users
  • Improved the reactivity of Firefox on macOS
Changed
  • In the Library, the Open in Sidebar feature for individual bookmarks was removed
  • Never check for updates option removed from about:preferences. If a substitute is needed, we recommend using the DisableAppUpdate enterprise policy
  • Firefox now warns about having multiple windows/tabs open when quitting from the main menu.
  • The Ctrl+Tab shortcut now displays thumbnail previews of your tabs and cycles through tabs in recently used order. This new default behavior is activated only in new profiles and can be changed in your preferences
  • The build infrastructure of Firefox on Windows moved to the Clang tool chain, bringing important performance gains

Installed it on 11/05/2015. No issues so far with my OS. v42.0.1 on Android is another story though. Crashes and stalls a lot.

Well, I must congratulate Mozilla Team, this version is way better than previous iterations, now HTML5 is more stable, yah, my VGA is still blacklisted, but you just tweak a pair of config values, and HD@60fps videos play smoothly. In general, the browser feels less sluggish.

Well done Mozilla!

New versions and updates every day now? I just installed FF ESR 38.5.2 and now a new version
43.0.2. I know that is a complete new version install but still, why go through this almost daily lately?

Well that screwed it up pretty well so off to reinstall my previous version.

Now back to where I was with all addons I put in enabled just as I like.
Security be damned but I ain't achang'n again.

FF v43.0.2 installed on 12/23/15. No issues with anything, including plugins and addons. Even seems to load a bit quicker.

If everyone's system was configured the same then the same success or failure rate would be the same.
But still it is amazing how some software can accommodate so many varieties of hardware and
configurations of addons and such. I just don't have the patience to fix something that ain't broke.
