KB3093594 should only be installed if you have an outlook.com account that has been upgraded to Outlook Mail (Preview).
Hmm well looks like I did the wrong thing installing that update though I guess it might have installed auto anyway - all in all a right royal muck up all round - thanks to Microsoft for being so mind numbmingly pig headed about what we can or cannot use.

Personally I ma going to try Linux Mint MATE as soon as I can and see what I can do within that environment - after all it could not be worse than what is happening in Windows right now.

I agree John, I think MS has made a mess of this "conversion".
I'm not sure what to do until MS converts ALL my MS email accounts to the new "format".
When ALL my accounts are converted, I'll try KB3093594 and see what that does.
I haven't installed KB3093594 because i have some converted accounts and some not converted.
I also think MS has server side problems, making things more confusing.

If you really want to get confused, read this article:

Thanks @Callender for that link !

Yes David it gets worse by each reply in this thread. I am now resigned to the fact that my partners email is now well and truly rooted - thanks to Microsoft and their despicable disregard of what people want and have got used to using. The motives are not clear to me at least but I have a few thoughts on that matter.

I have to say that they would have done well in the world of espionage insomuch that they have created a system/monster that is right out of a James Bond movie and out of control and the sad thing about it is that we all have paid for the privilege

Can't wait for my sticks to try out Linux

I got an interesting update today for my currently installed email client which is eMclient. It relates to outlook dot com accounts.

I guess you could try installing it as your non default email client and see if it works.

Currently I have Thunderbird (non-default) and eMclient (default)

Oh boy, the saga continues with this MS email "conversion".
I'm on my test box now where i've uninstalled WLM and switched to Thunderbird portable.

So far, no problems here with Thunderbird portable using hotmail, outlook.com, and gmail accounts.

Yes David have the Linux up and running now and he Thunderbird is working ok with both my email accounts though I am running it off a stick and being a very different setup a little hard to get both running at once. But again a bit of trial and error needed.

I have Windows Live Mail 2011 (not 2012) and haven't experienced problems yet - famous last words. I haven't run the mentioned KB update because I don't have Outllook.

Yes mate I moved up to 12 a long time ago thing is with all this rot that is going on at the moment I suppose even 12 isn't immune from those wretched updates like my partners WLM.

Am try the Mint email right now and it is very quick but the only problem is each time the system is shut down you have to start it over again as I thought it would stay set on the stick I ma running it form. In fact I ma going to install it on a spare SSD and see what happens.
