Google problems

My pc keeps returning to the top of the screen when I click on an address in google and the delete button has stoped working and I have to refresh every time this occurs to get google to search again. I have a 64 bit HP . I should clarify the screen scrolls to the top only if I'm down the list , if it hasn't scrolled down it won't scroll up. Only if your down the list if that makes sense.

Hello doh, and welcome to Seven Forum:)

As you can see in my system specs I use Google Chrome as my Browser. Can You enter the settings on the right-hand upper side of your Google screen and go into settings. Go slowly and carefully through the settings, you might have deleted some setting that you were not aware off.
If this does not solve your problem we will help you to find the solution to your problem

I had the same issue with Google (, the web site during search) using Internet Explorer. This just started to occur recently.
I used the compatibility view settings and it seems to work properly now. I do not know what changed.

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE) as your browser, click on the small "gear" in the upper right. Here you will find the Compatibility view settings.

You can also press the alt key and a menu will appear at the top of IE, select Tools. You will find the Compatibility view settings

Hi doh 123, yes, welcome to 7F! :)

Some items we need to go over:
  • It would help if you filled in your System Specs. It's one less question we have to ask; Like what browser do you normally like to use, and is it up to date? Try to be as informative as thelma, pbcopter, and me. Just click on the My System Specs icon in the lower left corner of any of our posts to see ours, you can even open yours.
  • Are you using a laptop, desktop, or mobile when this happens?
  • Do you use a wireless mouse?
  • Do you have a google account, gmail?
  • What browser are you using when this happens?
If you have a google account, some reports suggest signing-out then back in can help. If that doesn't help, then page refreshes, like you found out.
This suggests a cookie/cache/temp file cleaning.

pbcopter is correct, if you are using any internet explorer (IE) above, I believe version 9/8?
  • While you are on the google search page and using IE, open the compatibility tool and the page should show.
  • Go to the right and click on the Add button. I have nothing added, but I do have the two boxes checked at the bottom.

Compatibility for Firefox uses an add-on, March 2015:
you could try to fool the site by using and setting a different useragent (so firefox will claim to the site that it is actually IE):
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) maybe this will get you around a stupid block...

Source, near bottom:
And Chrome may have a setting:
Right click on the shortcut you use to open Chrome and select Properties. Then select the Compatibility tab.
