A site tells me an ad-blocker is installed- whaa!

    A site tells me an ad-blocker is installed- whaa!


    That despite of my following their instructions for removal, which did not work, tells me a blocker is still installed. I have searched everywhere including the registry and removed extensions and add-ons from the Chrome browser, also uninstalled Firefox with Revo Pro, and run CCleaner.

    Any blocker must have been removed, as I am seeing ads again in various sites I visit.

    So, has anyone any idea what may be causing my problem? Could it be the site itself, rather than me?

    Could be a hosts file entry. It could be security software or any script blocker.
