    Stop Default Saving to Content.IE5

    Hi there,

My boss' work computer is having some issues. I'm not very computer literate, so I apologize in advance.
Whenever she uses her Nuance PDF converter from our work computer system (run on Internet Explorer 11) and tries to save a PDF the default place it goes to save the file is Folder Content.IE5

    What I've tried:
I googled and read on Nuance that this issue was because
Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Security > [] Enable Protected Mode
    Was checked, but it wasn't.
We also added it to compatibility view as well, for what that's worth.

Then I thought maybe it was because of Nuance's NCC "cloud" device that auto downloads when you upgrade. So I went through and uninstalled the program from her computer and restarted it.

Then on here I read someone say to delete browser history to get rid of the temporary files that is Content.IE5
Did that, still defaults to saving under that file path.

So I thought maybe it was defaulting there because that was the last place she unintentionally saved to. So I saved it to the correct location in Documents. Reopened it, Save As, defaults back to the Content.IE5 folder.

How do I stop this from happening?
    I read this thread
How to stop files from saving to Content.IE5
It's the same file path, the steps they took didn't stop the issue.

You should place a check by IE11's Enable Protected Mode.

The problem seems to be with Nuance PDF converter itself. You might want to contact them for support.

I contacted both you guys and Nuance's technical support.
They said to uncheck the Enable Protected Mode box and then that's pretty much where their assistance has stopped.
So I was attempting to branch out to other people.

    Thank you for your help!

You dont actually say which type of OS, home/pro/ultimate.
If its either of the latter 2, there might be a group policy set to save to XXX.
As a test you could try firefox and select save downloads to downloads or any other location, i tend to default to desktop,
see screenshot (although its Waterfox, firefox has same default screen options)

On a 64bit OS, IE10 and IE11 create a parent process that uses the 64bit version of IE. That parent process creates the window that holds each tab (child). The children (tabs) can be either the 32bit version or the 64bit version of IE. Turning on the Enable Protected Mode, should tell IE to create the tabs using the 64bit version of IE (when possible). Some IE add-ons require IE 32bit. The parent IE process is supposed to know when a 32bit IE process is needed for a given add-on.

Nuance's technical support was having you turning off the EPM security feature to always force 32bit children. As you noticed, it did not help. You might try uninstalling and re-installing Nuance's PDF converter.
