Can't import all my contacts in Windows Live Mail

I'm at my wits end. From Windows Live Mail, on my 1st PC I've exported my 1900 contacts as CSV files, (using excel) transferred to my new, 2nd machine (via email) and tried to import them to WLM but only 40% show up and there's no error message. Is there a better way to export / import contacts?

    Thanks, John / Airpix

Just wondering why you are exporting them - mine just go across whenever I install WLM on another machine, as do the messages in and out. Mind you that seems a lot of contacts and I suppose it's possible for soem to get lost on the way.
Having said that with what is going on with 10 and WLM supposedly going to phased out (I stand to be corrected) in favour of that awful Outlook stuff.

I recently installed Linux on a machine and the Thunderbird took across everything when I used my usual accounts - hotmail one for example. Plus it can be configured to look like WLM. I am not suggesting that you should go Linux far from it but does show that my email accounts take with them all info already on board.

Mine didn't go across when I installed WLM on a new machine, hence the export / import but only about 1/2 of my contacts were imported.

Hm John don't know what to suggest mate other than reinstall WLM again - I know I had some problems with a new laptop recently with servers etc - I am not sure what it was all about but my provider took control of the machine and changed the POP and IMAP settings - am not sure which but it fixed the problem which was just that nothing could be downloaded.
That remains a mystery to me because I never mess with those settings unless I am absolutely sure of what I am doing is 100% correct - maybe your provider could shed some light on the issue.
