Windows 7: OPened browsers cover up the taskbar.

OPened browsers cover up the taskbar.

The taskbar, which I have at the bottom of my Windows 7 screen, is covered over now when I open Chrome in maximized size. This wasn't the case a week ago and earlier. Then the taskbar was in front of whatever I ran, which is the way I want it. FireFox does the same thing. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Don't know it this is your problem but give hitting the F11 key on the keyboard a try.

Is your taskbar at the bottom except for Maximize?

Just how the start menu sorts things, is this possible for pinned programs on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate? Or is there an application available that will let me do so?
Opened apps, files, browsers not filling the sceen
There is a transparent area 1 1/2 inch above all programs, text files and browsers, etc, displays that shows the top of the desktop. Is there a way to get the display to fill the screeen? Is there a setting or configuration that will overcome this issue? Thanks for any suggestions, Mary
