I think what you got there is called a PUP try using the free version of Malwarebytes, Or you could post another question here on SevenForums asking "how do I get rid of Windows 7 Drive Optimizer".
    https://www.malwarebytes.org/

If possible try downloading it from a clean computer to a USB stick and run the installer on the infected computer

    Thanks for the response

Have tried malwarebytes, then junk removal tool/, adware cleaner, and combofix/ from Bleeping Computer site. Bloody thing still keeps coming back after awhile. I (think) there is a possibility it crept in from the persistent Adobe update requests ?!?

'Cannot believe I am the only one that has been blessed with this junk

Open an about:config tab and search for driversupport and see what comes up.

Thanks much for responding. I need to say that I am not a 'guru', I just paddle along in the surf and try to keep afloat.
I have used MACRUM REFLECT and reloaded a copy that was almost two years old -waay before this popup ever occurred- and went through all the program updates. The very next day the (&^% thing is back! I do believe it is FIREFOX that is either carrying it or activating it as IE or CHROME have never presented it. I use FIREFOX as I like the way it works MOST OF THE TIME!
Looked for DRIVERSUPPORT and found nothing (probably wouldn't recognize it in that maze). Any other suggestions for someone who is computer-challenged

    Finally!

After trying a heap of anti-virus programs that DID NOT detect this rascal, I was referred to SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! by the Firefox Forum and it promptly 'nailed' EIGHT problems and wiped them. I think it is GONE!
It appears that download.driversupport has met its match
