Install IE11

    Install IE11


    Sony Vaio VPCL117FX
    Win7 64 bit SP1 Home Premium

    After reinstalling Win7 64 bit through the upgrade option (without reformatting the hard drive) per Fred Langa of Windows Secrets instructions, I ended up with IE8.
    I have attempted to upgrade to IE11 without success.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
    That would be normal on an old installer but not the error
    Reinstalled twice, but Windows still won't update

    M$ did finally release this,

    Hi Doru,
    lookin at the specs for your comp it came with W7, why the RE-install??, or was that from W7 to W7 SP1, strange !!!.
    >>>Re-install W7<<< base is IE8, (years old), unless you had updates turned OFF then the system should allready be on IE11.

hi what is the best way to go about this? should i disable ie8 first, then launch off clean install of ie11 x64? i don't want to patch up from default installed ie8. also, i noticed the directory still exists in program files x86 should i/can i remove those.
