Links not working in Windows Live Mail 2012

Suddenly no links in emails will work in emails in WLM 2012.
Firefox is set as default but nothing opens.

I am working round it by copying and pasting the link into FF address bar.

I think I've done everything suggested in earlier posts about this.

Microsoft help instructs making IE default !!!! No thanks.

Hi rufford155, sometimes I get the same if FF is open on certain unknown websites. Try the links with FF closed.
Is FF set as default browser. Is WLM 2012 default mail in FF.

The defaults were already set correctly.
Closed FF as you suggested, then the links were OK so many thanks for advice.
Just hoping they stay that way.
I am losing faith in WLM as it's going haywire often these days but I like it and prefer a desktop client.

    Hi rufford155,
here are some tips on using WLM, I have more if you want them.
    -
How I use Windows Live Mail.
    -
1 Get a Microsoft Account i.e. Hotmail.com or the latest Outlook.com, and use it to sign-in to WLM.

2 Store all your contacts in it using
.CSV file format to export / import.
    -
3 Set the account/s you use to be accessible using POP3.
    -
4 WLM can send / receive from any accounts, using as many as you need.

On signing-in to WLM, it will add your new Email account. When all it's folders have been downloaded it can safely be removed if you don't want it.
    -
5 Now your account/s can be added.

As I don't know how other mail accounts handles mail when accessed using POP3, so you will have to find this yourself.

I use Gmail, and it archives my messages, when accessed using POP.
So I never lose any mail.
    -
Signing-in to WLM gives good features and security. By setting the Options for:- General, Read, Receipts, Send, Compose, Signatures, Spelling and the Advanced section. Plus, Safety Options for:- Junk Mail, Safe Senders, Blocked Senders, International, Phishing and Security if set correctly.
    -
    Now using AOL mail also
    -
I use WLM 2012 on both my computers.

I have been using WLM for years for 2 POP accounts on this laptop and another abroad.
I sign in with my MS account and everything syncs fine.
But it is going haywire in several respects, I've had other threads here about them.
    1) Will only send one message at a time from outbox, used to send any number.
    2) Sometimes times out on sending just the one.
    3) Puts the wrong things in Junk - even stuff I've copied to myself !
    4) Will not export messages properly, only exports one at random from a folder.
    5) Does not populate 'To' field with a group unless '+' is ticked, never used to be necessary.
I've repaired Windows Essentials several times to no avail.
Now I hear MS is ending support, yet another pro-Win10 tactic I guess.
I've looked at desktop alternatives but don't like them as much.
Currently waiting for Opera mail to come out of Beta.
