How do I turn off a new "feature" in Thunderbird?

I'm actually at my wit's end...

A recent Thunderbird update has created a new "Paragraph" feature when composing messages. That means that each time the enter key is pressed, the cursor advances two lines instead of one, UNLESS you click a button and set the editor to "Body Text". If you do that it only advances one line at a time.

Is there any way to turn off this "Paragraph" feature? I prefer to use "Body Text", but that means I have to click a button and select from a drop down every time I want to compost a message, and I always forget.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi:

    Yep, @BrightBlessings is correct.:)

Just disable (un-tick) that particular setting in the Options.

(The other workaround for Thunderbird and other "editors" that now start a new paragraph (double space) is to simultaneously use both the SHIFT key and the ENTER key, instead of just the ENTER key.)

    Cheers,
