Possible to disable Default Browser, similarly to no Default Mail app?

(Why the title can only be 70 characters? Too short. Most normal forums allow 100 characters minimum. Where to suggest this?)

Longer title: Is it possible to disable Default Browser, similarly to there is no Default Mail app?

I want to do this for added extra security for my light virtualization setup, and just for the heck of it.

Sorry, I'm not 100% understand you, as I'm not a native speaker. Was it a question? Maybe, but without the question mark. Any 3rd member helping me to translate what @samuria has said, would be helpful, too!

the only way i can think of
Turn OFF IE, via progs/features.
Install another browser, then change the startup value in AdminTools>> services >> properties>> change to manual.
note uncheck new browser entries in system config >> startup.

All in all, what I'd like to accomplish is, to have NO default browser. For security. Just like in Windows Server.

Start Menu > Administrative Tools (notes for myself)

OK, I did only step 1, and now it doesn't open links in Internet Explorer, let alone any browser when I click on a link in another app. And that's what I wanted to achieve. Are then steps 2 and 3 obsolete? Thanks!

I do not have any browser registered with Windows system-wide. I use portable applications, including portable browsers.

OK. I checked Ultimate Windows Tweaker, version 2.2 is the latest for Windows 7. I have no what it does or how does it work, it looks like a skin or alternative for the Windows System menu.

Either way, it's just a hack, whatever it does, if it does at all, Windows should do natively. And I prefer native solutions whenever possible, why rely on a 3rd party too for basic tasks?
