save and save as buttons missing win 7

    no good either. When I go to file assoc in win t .zip ext is not there. That may be the issue

    will try the restore file assoc u mention. I think that will fix it

    mmm still same but what is happening is actually it is saving to desktop and then opening the file. So no save as or save window is coming up. Sorry for the confusion, just worked that out

    if i right click the zip and choose save link as then it works how it should

    no sorry same issue as last post. All I did was clarify what it is doing.. dloads the file and opens it without any save options.
    I was using a chrome extension that disables the shelf but uninstalled that and even reinstalled Chrome also to try to fix.

    Sorry I don't use Chrome. I have a couple of browsers similar to Chrome though.

    Suggest: Check Chrome settings manager. In SlimJet there's a settings icon on the toolbar but also typing:

    slimjet://settings

    into the address bar then pressing Enter also opens settings manager.

    Try:

    chrome://settings

    Then if it works tick "Show advanced settings"

    Then check that you have not set your desktop as the default download location and tick "Ask where to save each file before downloading"

    It's possible that the options are slightly different in Chrome.
