    chrome wont update

    Chrome won't update.
I am using latest version on win 7 64bit.
I have uninstalled with revo and then manually deleted chrome folder from users/app data.
    Fresh install still same.
When I go to about box in chrome i get a red icon and this message
    Version 53.0.2785.116 m (64-bit)

An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x80004002 -- system level).

I have checked to make sure nothing locked in folders and that I do have admin privileges. All looks good.

also when i use the chrome cleanup tool it says no program found!
    And chrome IS installed.
So I think it must be something to do with not being able to find the exe?

    .
Your Chrome error message shows 64bit Chrome. Unless you are using REVO Pro it will not fully remove Chrome as the free version of REVO is only suitable for removing 32bit softwares.

Where are you downloading Chrome from? Get it from the official site. Also try the installed or portable version of SlimJet - Chrome variant. To update you just install the new version over the top of the old version.

Slimjet doesn't use chrome extensions? So no good for me

Also see this issue too even if Revo does not uninstall fully even before uninstall this tool can't find the exe for some reason

    As posted above...
