How do i get access to intranet websites?

For my work i need to access a intranet website which is only supported by internet explorer.

when i try to load this it comes up with - 404 error, i changed something before in my internet options and it started to work, but since then a family friend has installed few bits for me and tried to make my hardrive faster and now the intranet website wont work again.

    Any ideas?

Hello Brad mate that error means the page cannot be found - I can access my works intranet site with no problems are you absolutely sure you are searching for the correct address??
If you are then you may have to contact your IT people and get access but really unless the site is configured as a high security one you should just be able to open it up.

Just a by the by have you tried Googling your worksite's home page??

Actually Samuria mate I got the impression he is trying to access the site at home - just like I do mine .

Now after reading post#1 again Brad what did that family friend install on that machine as a lot of aftermarket softwares can be more trouble than they are worth especially if the system you are trying to reach doesn't allow access by using them.

Your company site likely has security requirements above that of a typical website. I would have a look in there and see what is enabled or disabled. You might also try a different browser than the one you are using now.
