Searching High Performing Brower, Homepage & Email

Back to W7 after death of W10. With this restart I would appreciate opinions on the best performing browser, homepage and email software or combination of the three.

Off to a bad start. Took hours to purchase online and install Bitdefender Antivirus 2017. Suppose to be the best. It has slowed some things to a crawl. As added help, please comment on the antivirus you use or recommend.

    Thanks,
    lpatrick

Well all of todays browsers are fast. Some just a little faster doing some things.

Normally your internet speed will have a bigger effect than your browser.
Security programs will have a effect on browser speeds. Just to name a couple.

You can check you internet speed using something like this.

Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

It would be helpful if you filled in your system specs completely.

Outlook is not a browser. It's a email service offered by Microsoft.

    From your system specs.

    Antivirus Bitdefender
    Browser Outlook

Hi and welcome back to win-7 :)

Firstly antivirus programs wise you can do pretty good with Avast or Panda free which Panda free is what I've been using for some time now.
Combined with malewarebytes premium is all anyone really needs.

Browsers well speed comes at a resource price
Chrome so called the fastest is pretty annoying to me so I've been using palemoon primarily but also started using Firefox lately with Amazon prime and it's actually pretty good now days.
So I've ditched and hacen't used ie11 in a long time except on my little laptop which I rarely use mostly just banking..

email I primarily use gmail and office outlook but not much lately
gmail's good and has some cool customizations you can use your own back ground images which is

Thank you both for helping me better understand. Still using IE11. I switched from Outlook to Yahoo because Outlook stopped receiving emails. Just another ghost in my software. Seem to have quite a few. I deleted Bitdefender and System Mechanic after possibly both caused W7 Premium to blue screen. No blue screens since removing those. As soon as possible I will provide all specs. Now I've got to troubleshoot.

Do your self a favor and stay away for such tools as System Mechanic. Their is no telling the damage they cause. UN-installing such programs does not fix the damage they have already caused.

How can I find the damage caused by SM? I just completed trouble shooting but found no problems. The last issues I know of were:
    1. Windows Update when started does not stop and never reports.
    2. Sleep does not work per the schedule. I have to manually put the system to sleep.

Where can I find solutions to these two issues? Please remember I'm a novice so dumb down the tech talk if necessary. Thank you.
