    Google toolbar not remembering searches

My laptop has Win 10 with Edge and IE11.
The last couple of days the google toolbar in IE11 doesn't remember past searches or suggest searches as you type. I've gone thru the search settings and nothing seems amiss. On my desktop it works as it should.
    Any ideas?

    This is actually sevenforums.com.
But see this thread over at the sister forum, tenforums.com:

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history? - Windows 10 Forums

Unfortunately, none of the posters in that thread provided direct links to the MS forum discussions.
But it sounds as if it is a known issue.
Google toolbar -- at least under Win10 -- appears to be broken after recent Windows updates.
    And, according to the OP:

Microsoft is aware of the issue over on their forum. No ETA on fix, if any.
    Hope this helps a bit,

    MM

Haha, sorry MM, I automatically posted on the 7 forum.
Looks like a Win 10 update thing then.
    Thanks,

    Well, here's a funny thing.
The Google toolbar is now not remembering searches on my Win 7 work pc (in 7 x 64, IE11)
    Any thoughts on that

OK, it seems to be KB3194798 update.
I've uninstalled it and set my wifi to metered so it doesn't get reinstalled,
