    Email addresses

Hello Folks. Wasn't certain exactly which subsection to address so went for 'General'.
I use Outlook as my email program. When I begin to insert an address, a drop-down menu appears showing me a list of names - many of which are not in my personal address book. How can I get access to this file of names?

You can view and edit the auto-complete drop down remembered email address list using:

I have to confess to being somewhat intimidated by this program: I suspect it is way more sophisticated than my ability and needs require. If it's not then it certainly appears that way to me. Is that the only option? I simply want to put these addresses in a file for reference purposes; I don't want them to be active. A simple text file is all I require. Any chance?

It's pretty easy to use and you don't need to know command line options. Alternatively there is this:

    NK2View - View Outlook .NK2 AutoComplete Information

Export auto complete recorrds to .csv (then import to outlook. Or export to text file if that's what you prefer.

Unfortunately I do not have outlook on my machine at home but if I get time tomorrow I'll run both utilities in my machime at work and take screenshots showing the required steps.

Or if anyone else wants to post - please do.

    See tutorial here:

Manage Your Outlook Email Address Auto-Complete List

Look under "Export Your AutoComplete List"

Hello Callender and thank-you; I downloaded NK2 View and you are correct as usual, it is very straightforward. I followed your tutorial and exported to text-file perfectly first time. Well done yet again I am much obliged. Keith.
