    Hi,
Yahoo should be dumped it has never been very secure and now verizon owns yahoo
Gmail is a lot better and the display shows no adds or animation at all
All you see is your inbox.... nothing else and can easily be customized with a desktop image just like you use on your desktop using custom theme features :)

I agree -- it's probably not the best choice for webmail (if there really is a "best" choice these days).

    and now verizon owns yahoo
    Not yet, technically.
Multiple reports in recent weeks that the deal is being re-negotiated, in light of the past security breach reports:

Verizon-Yahoo Acquisition Deal: Will Verizon Back Out Or Seek Discount Over Yahoo's Data Breach?

And there's a chance the entire deal could fall through.
But, yes, I would look elsewhere.

I tend to agree, even though Google (and gmail) have their own issues and concerns...
(I will not use Chrome, after seeing all the problems with it in malware removal fora & elsewhere.)

    Cheers,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the articles :)
One thankfully doesn't need to use Chrome to use gmail
Firefox/... is good too and firefox has a cool built in add-on too for the right column

    Of course not.
I did not intend to suggest otherwise.

I mentioned Chrome only because the OP mentioned in it the subject of the original post (and as a way of saying that I have no personal experience with it).

    Cheers,
