How can I stop Yahoo from searching

I have all the setting for Google and disabled Yahoo and Bing. I'm noticing today when I search with Google results come up from Yahoo...which is no results at all. What a terrible search engine. When I see the name Yahoo I just cringe (or Bing)

I use Firefox with Google as my search engine. There was a message that came saying that firefox could now be a search engine. So I clicked the "search for Firefox search engine"box and then I noticed , even though I was seeing google on the screen, when the actual search was made it had Yahoo logo. After a while I went back and unclicked the look for firefox box and it stopped happening. I know a lot of time Yahoo jumps in from another program. I think I'll close this request since it is solved for now.

    Hi,
You might state which browser you're using
Each one has different ways to remove search engines that may come with the browser or were added to the browser from other downloads you have installed like Flash player or even java/...

Why don`t you install Chrome as well and set it`s homepage to Google.com :)

    Chrome rocks
