I am getting an error in WLM which I couldn't fix?

    Hi,
I have a Hotmail account which I access with "Windows Live Mail". Recently, I can't receive nor sent email due to this error (below) which it says that I quote: "The host ' smtp.live.com ' could not be found! Please verify you entered the server name correctly". In the past, I remembered being able to fixed although this time, I tried founding a solution on google but failed to resolve my issue so can you please help with that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Yannik

    Here's my info:
    I use Windows 7 (64)

    Server: ' smtp.live.com '
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 587
    Secure (SSL): Yes
    Socket Error: 11004

Hello Yankie now mate I am surprised you have not been answered before now because WLM is dead in the water as far as I am aware of since of some time ago.

I for example have a hotmail address and used WLM for many years and now have to use Outlook - it is not so good as WLM and takes some setting up and is in my opinion not as good as WLM. I also have reservations about using it as it is very much leaning towards an app type function which I don't feel as so secure with using it but what alternatives has one got. I have tried Thunderbird and it is a bit convoluted for my liking too.
