    Hi:

    Thanks for your most welcome input to my issue of the windows and tabs that seem to open when i 'go to' certain web sites and i say that because not every site will include these multi-windows that seem to creep up or without knowing about it until a swift scroll to the FF icon reveals...dang--a strand of open windows that make up 'advertisements' of course and sometime there's 2 of the same ads or commercials.
    It seems that perhaps we all may have misunderstood your issue.
    The behavior you describe sounds like popup advertisements that appear on certain web sites.

    Unfortunately, #13 of the forum rules prohibits us from discussing ways to deal with that.

    I'm sorry, but I cannot assist further here in this venue with that particular issue.

    Thanks for your understanding,
    MM

    You can try adding this to your Firefox profile:

    Code:
    // JavaScript & DOM
    user_pref("dom.event.contextmenu.enabled", false); // Disable JavaScript meddling
    /* Disable website control over right click context menu
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.location", true); // Disable Scripts capabilities
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.menubar", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.scrollbars", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.status", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_flip", true);
    /* window z-order */
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_move_resize", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.close", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.minimizable", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.personalbar", true);
    /* bookmarks toolbar */
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_open_feature.titlebar", true);
    user_pref("dom.disable_window_status_change", true);
    user_pref("dom.allow_scripts_to_close_windows", false);
    Copy contents into a notepad document and save as file name user.js

    Put a copy in your Firefox profile folder.

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    Copy and paste line above into Explorer address bar or Start > Run dialog box.

    In the window that opens there should be a folder named (random text).default

    Open it and copy user.js into it. Make sure that Firefos is not running when you do this.

    Just to clarify. Place that file in your default Firefox profile folder. Or in the profile folder that you currently use.

    If you have multiple profile folders use Profile Manager to see which profile is selected for use when you run Firefox.

    Wow, I'm feeling kind of defeated & will adhere to continuing this Friday night after work when i may be more in tune to figuring out the next step that includes this profile manager and finding which profile i currently use. I would like to go ahead and delete the additional one so as to spare the confusion. But when i do finally get it, that's where i'll continue on and slip in the js copy as your instructions display.
    Thanks again*

    p.s. Kind of reminds me of Xp Windows when using the Admin. account or a user account. Ya know(?)
