    Annoying Chrome invitation

I would very much like to go back to using Internet Explorer 12 but every time I open it I get an advert inviting me to download and use Google Chrome. Is there a way of permanently stopping this from appearing? Thanks in advance.

I think Internet Options section gives you a way to save your favorite home page tab or a blank page tab. And, hopefully no more Chrome advertisement within your favorite opening tab.

How do you install IE 12 in Windows 7?

Anyway assuming that you mean IE11 try this addon:

    Bayden Systems - UAPick

Once installed you can change user agents. If you change to GoogleBot you won't see that prompt but it can affect functionality on some sites.

    Annoying Chrome invitation

First of all please excuse my error; I did mean IE11.

I made a small change in my IE settings and it seems to have solved the problem. Ever since forever I have had my opening page set to www.google .ca. I changed this to www.bing.com and I opened IE11 at least a dozen times (including rebooting) and the annoying invitation is nowhere in sight. I don't know about tomorrow but today such is the outcome. If tomorrow I turn on my laptop and the annoying item is back I shall certainly report to this group.

In the meantime I thank one and all for all assistance.

    Also try: google.com/webhp? instead.

Well, I booted my laptop this morning and there still is no sign of the annoying advert. So, so far, so good.
    Have a good day.

Great. But what happens if you visit Google?

That box is coded into the page.

I just went to Google (never crossed my mind) and I got the message that Chrome works better with Google. Oh well, I can't have everything, I guess.

Hopefully you will not see the prompt.
