Windows 7: Downloads hang upon completion when using Chrome

Downloads hang upon completion when using Chrome

When I download files using Chrome they hang upon completion disrupting other downloads in progress.

The amount of time they hang varies upon the size of the file. If it's a large file it can be several minutes resulting in the other downloads being aborted.

What is causing this?

BTW, this problem does not occur when I use IE.

Thanks in advance for any help.
