Exporting Live Mail Contacts Hey Robind9 ~ ~ Using the '.CSV' option t

~ Using the '.CSV' option to export my Live Mail contacts to an external drive, it auto-saved in Excel. Is that normal? Will they import back to Live Mail after I hose and get my laptop back up? Thanks!

It's normal if your .csv file extension associated wirh Excel by default in "Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type" rather than any other spreadsheet application.

RE: Import. Typically if there are any problems you just create a single new contact in your email client and export. Then you look at layout and format of exported .csv file and modify the one you want to import to match.

    FYI:

I don't use WLM personally. Check this thread:

    Support for WLM has ended:

Windows Essentials 2012 suite end of support on January 10th 2017

So you will need another email client soon anyway.
Can I still use Windows Live Mail

They should import. Having said that I don't use WLM.

Try this. Make a copy of your exported contact list, and open the copy in Excel. Leave the headings but delete the other rows. Create a new contact using the column headings as a guide. Save the file with a new file name then try to import it. See if the new contact appears.
