IE back button does not work

When I am in IE and click the back button I get what looks to be a blank page. If I then click on the forward button IE goes to the page I tried to back up from.

The only thing I have done recently was to run full scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. IT found one minor virus and that was removed.

The backup button works fine in my Google browser.

    How do I fix IE??

    Hi,
Right click the backwards button and see what is in it's way
Take a screen shot of the listing and post it.

First I did a Google for Texas Chili and went to Betty Crocker recipe. I then right clicked on the back arrow and here is what I got:

To get it to do anything I had to double click the back arrow and then it went to a blank page. It should have gone back to the goggle search.

That has happened to this point.

same here--ie back button not working

I'm having same problem with I.E. back button suddenly not working, and I use Google as search engine. Tried a restart of both I.E. and also computer, but same issue.
I'm suspecting it to be another glitch in the June update roll-up...not realizing the date, I manually updated last Friday, and then realized I had put on the most recent pkg, which I try to hold off on. But that's just a theory.

    Hi,
Add the doubleclick url to your restricted sites zone,
You should be on it when you see the blank page if so just use the add button

ThrashZone it is NOT just one website. I have had the issue for several sites.

This has been happening to me exclusively on the Google search page. Google opens fine from the shortcut, I do a search on XYZdotCom and it appears fine. But, then using the IE 'back' button shows only a blank page. No Google search box, no nothing just blank. I have to close the page then re-open Google. Very strange. I suspect that Terri13 is on the right track with a glitch in the June rollup.

EDIT: It just started a few days ago and I have done no remediation efforts as yet.

Yes, that fix suggested by ThrashZone won't help, since it is multiple/most web sites as Huffman says...we probably need to un-install any I.E. updates within the June batch. I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

terri13 my problem I don't think started with updates. It first occurred (that I noticed) after running a full virus scan using MSE.

I am not even sure if I can uninstall any updates in June. It would take space I want to why this is true. My only restore point is on 6/26 so that is no help.

I wonder if it could be a Google search engine glitch since that seems a common element with us?
Plus, I've done some back arrows today that worked, so now I'm trying to see if I still have the problem!
