    Internet Explorer

    Thanks for any help.

This is the 2nd time that an error message appeared that
    Internet explorer couldn't be found.
The only way I could solve the problem was to do a Macrium Reflect
    restore.

Stats: Window 7 pro 64-bit, ESET SS, Malwarebytes, do weekly maintenance,
    Ccleaner, gmail and others.

I think it has something to do with Google Chrome or Chromium. I use neither.
Hope someone can give me a clue as where to look for the trouble.

    Thank you for replying.
The 2nd time this happened I was trying to delete everything I could
find that referenced Chrome and Cromium. I feel they are dangerous
to have on my computer. I do use Gmail though. I think they are
    separate programs.

    Hi Phenix,
    can you check its status,
control panel >> programs/features >> features (top left) a smaller window will open, IE should be there and checked.

    Thank you for responding Torchwood,
It is NOT in program & features in the control panel.
But it is showing in c:\program files\internet explorer and
    program files (86)\internet explorer.

    Thanks again torchwood:
Google Chrome is still in my computer in Programs and Features.
Last time I deleted it, IE disappeared and I had to reinstall windows 7.
That was before I put a check mark in IE in Windows features.

Eset SS blocks messages that Google Chrome is trying to send from my
computer. I don't want Google Chrome sending messages from my computer
and I don't want it on it either. Now I do use Gmail. I assume it is not part
    of Google Chrome.

Since I have a backup that works I am going to delete everything that starts
with Google Chrome and see if it deletes IE again. Wish me luck......
