Windows Live Mail can't save contacts

WLM won't let me add or modify a Contact. I keep getting, "The contact information could not be saved. Check the contact's information and try again". I get the same message if I try to "Add Contact" from a received email. All other features seem to be working.

    Thanks, Airpix

Hello airpix mate first up could you please follow this
    SYSTEM SPECS
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

For your problem specifically WLM was as far as I know support for it was discontinued a long time ago an maybe the reason why you are having this problem. Out here we can no longer get WLM for reasons I described and myself I am using the free outlook.live.com for my emails.

It is not as pleasant an interface as WLM and with the free one you are nagged with ads. However they tell me that these can be got rid of in the free version personally I just ignore them It is not hard to set up and adding contacts etc etc is not as straight forward as WLM was but it is usable, and will pull all of you old email stuff across once you set it up.

There are other servers but this one suffices me if you Google outlook.live.com it will gives you the details.
One thing is that you will have to set up a Microsoft account to log into it and a tip make sure you keep any password for it in a very safe place because it is a pain to recover/reset it.

I think ICIT2LOL is on the right track here.
