    Link in document pointing to wrong browser executable.

    I'm using a portable version of Cyberfox browser. In the Cyberfox Portable folder there is a file named "CyberfoxPortable.exe" which is used to launch the program. In a sub-folder there is another file named "Cyberfox.exe" which is not used to launch program. The problem is whenever I click on a link in a document, for instance, a Word document, the link seems to be pointing to the "Cyberfox.exe" file to launch the browser, when it should be pointing to "CyberfoxPortable.exe". Also, if I'm using a program that has an online help, I get the same results, when clicking on the help file, the "Cyberfox.exe" launches instead of the "CyberfoxPortable.exe".

    I looked in the registry and found this;

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http]
    @="URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol"
    "AppUserModelID"="Microsoft.InternetExplorer.Default"
    "EditFlags"=dword:00000002
    "FriendlyTypeName"="@C:\\Windows\\System32\\ieframe.dll,-903"
    "Source Filter"="{E436EBB6-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770}"
    "URL Protocol"=""
    "WebNavigableCLSID"="{ae90e550-0443-47fb-a001-4875648d4ed3}"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\DefaultIcon]
    @="C:\\Users\\BHM_HYBRID\\Documents\\PortableApps\\CyberfoxPortable\\App\\Cyberfox\\Cyberfox.exe,1 "
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Extensions]
    ".ASF"="{187463A0-5BB7-11D3-ACBE-0080C75E246E}"
    ".WM"="{187463A0-5BB7-11D3-ACBE-0080C75E246E}"
    ".WMA"="{187463A0-5BB7-11D3-ACBE-0080C75E246E}"
    ".WMV"="{187463A0-5BB7-11D3-ACBE-0080C75E246E}"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell]
    @="open"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open]
    "CommandId"="IE.Protocol"
    "DontReturnProcessHandle"=""
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command]
    @=""C:\\Users\\BHM_HYBRID\\Documents\\PortableApps\\CyberfoxPortable\\App\\Cyberfox\\Cyberfox.exe" -osint -url "%1""
    "DelegateExecute"="{17FE9752-0B5A-4665-84CD-569794602F5C}"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\ddeexec]
    @=""

    I tried changing the default value of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command, key
    from
    "C:\Users\BHM_HYBRID\Documents\PortableApps\CyberfoxPortable\App\Cyberfox\Cyberfox.exe" -osint -url "%1"

    to this,

    "C:\Users\BHM_HYBRID\Documents\PortableApps\CyberfoxPortable\CyberfoxPortable.exe" -osint -url "%1"

    That didn't work, so I changed it back. I'm open to any suggestions or ideas to correct this issue.

    Portable software is not intended to have file associations and should never be associated with any files. You need to reset your default browser to an installed one. The "CyberfoxPortable.exe" is only the launcher for the "Cyberfox.exe" browser. Besides, all I have heard form the cyberfox developers is that they don't have the resources to continue development.

    I would suggest you install The installer version of Cyberfox.
