    Red up looking arrow

I was typing something into google search and this weird symbol came up. I tried typing the letter r in other spots to see whether the symbol came up but it didn't. Does anyone know whether this would be related to a browser/operating system/virus/spyware issue?

It's nothing to worry about, it's just letting you know that the spelling or typo has occurred. Mine does the same thing. In other words it's a spell check to help you.

You can try entering different spellings that you know are wrong & it should underline the incorrect spelling in red, but in this case as there is only the letter "r" it just shows what looks like a small red arrow.

I forgot to mention that I also deleted the letter when attempting to recreate the issue. The symbol only came up in that spot. Do you know whether this is normal?

As I mentioned above it is a spelling or error notification. If you deleted the "r" & you still had the red arrow it was probably indicting that you had left a gap in the sentence.

It's a normal part of Google & is not indicating any problem, so don't worry about it.
