Upgrading MS Office 2007 to 2016

Spectrum has just taken over from Oceanic Time-Warner.
Coincidental with that, My galfriend's Outlook 2007 has stopped working correctly.
She gets the little popup that asks for her user name/password, again, and again, Ad nauseam.
    She cannot access the server.
    I called Spectrum.
They admit to an Outlook problem with no explanation other than that.
She is now relegated to accessing her email through a browser.

I upgraded my MS Office to 2016 a year or so ago.
She didn't want to learn a new version, so declined adding it to her PC.
We use the same I-net connection.
I am not having any problems with Outlook.

I'm thinking that upgrading her to Office 2016 will take care of her problem.
I need to back up all her messages and her address book to add to the new install.

If I copy the Outlook.pst file at:
    Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\ Outlook.pst
and copy it onto another HD/partition as a backup, I should then be able to copy it into the appropriate [same?] folder after the upgrade is finished giving her everything she needs.

    Correct?

It looks like your IP settings are incorrect & need to redone. Contact Oceanic Time Warner & get the correct settings then follow this website on getting it set up.

How to Set Up Outlook 2007 to Send and Receive Email

You will need the settings & whether it's POP3 or IMAP for Item 5 & you will need the settings for Items 6 & 7, from your email provider.

Sorry about it taking so long to get back on this.
M' Lady finally jabbed me in the butt to get her Outlook up and running again.
She's tired of doing web mail.

I did the upgrade to 2k16 after making a just-in-case drive image and copying the .pst file.
Not to worry. The installation saved all her emails and address book, and connects to the server.
She's happy and I'm out of the dog house.
