    Make Outlook.com the default email


    HI: How do I make outlook.com the default email program. I am using IE11 and windows7. Presnetly my mail to is set at Outlook, not outlook.com. I cannot find it in the list. Thanks

    In Windows, your "default email program" refers to which email program you want to use to do your email in Windows. It does not refer to which website you will go to for your email.

    Outlook is an email program, whereas outlook.com is a website.

    You'll need to either decide on an email program to use for your email, or you'll need to keep going on the web to access outlook.com.

    You do not say which version of outlook you are using but it should be a simple matter to add Outlook Com to the email services that Outlook checks automatically for you, and of course, if you wish, you can still use the web based interface, which is useful if you are on someone else's system
