Outlook archiving and account set to online with microsoft exchange

dear forum board,
I have a user that as few additional mailboxes to there account, there outlook account is set to "online with Microsoft exchange" when trying to archive they user gets a message "the attempted operation failed. An object could not be found."
any advice I have googled but getting mixed responses.
