What I really need it for is to wait while I decide what part of any forums I want to go to after I log in. It doesn't do that.

    Yup, I know about:config

Never heard of about:about I'll look at it.

I could go back in the FF versions to find a version that does make the browser wait until I click. But then I would have to deal with sites complaining my brouwser was 'outdated'.

Hiyya JimJoe mate I don't know what the anser is to be absolutely honest and a friend is having issues with FF herself, so I might suggest you have a try of this https://cyberfox.8pecxstudios.com/ her and I have both stopped using Firefox an am using this on all machines now both Windows and Linux and personally I find it quick light and with no issues that I can put a finger on.

It is a sort of Firefox based remake for want of a better term and anyway if you don't like it you can just uninstall it. If you do decide to have a go then it will carry stuff over from the other browsers and you can choose which form you have AMD or Intel I think it needs to be the correct bit version the other I am sure is just cosmetic.

Like I said what have you got to lose because you don't have to uninstall Firefox to use it either.
