I'm using IE 11, is it possible to exclude selected cookies when I do a clear-out: which I do after every browsing session?

Use the free CCleaner. It has option for which cookies to save or not save.

I downloaded the latest version and set all the options then saved the cookies I need and 'hey presto' problem solved.
