Windows Live Mail 2011 calendar error message when opening WLM

When I open the Windows Live Mail program (WLM 2011), I get an error message "There was an error when attempting to connect to Windows Live Calendar service. See if an upgrade is available or call a service representative.". I've had WLM 2011 for years. This message just popped up several months ago. I don't even use the calendar at all.

I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of it. Nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Tom

WLM 2011 was updated to WLM 2012 & has been discontinued for sometime now & is no longer supported. MS sent out numerous warnings about this to all WLM users via emails.

The replacement email program is Outlook.com & it is free. Google Outlook.com & read up about it to see if it is suitable for you. If you decide to use it, you should be able to transfer your contacts etc. over from WLM.

    Thanks

I really want to stay with WLM 2011. I didn't even upgrade to WLM 2012 when it came out.

As far as google mail, I have it on another computer. It's just ok. Yahoo mail is closer to WLM 2011, but still not as good in my opinion. I know WLM 2011 is long discontinued, otherwise I'd have just reinstalled it.

So we're back to how to fix the error message.

In my opinion the best solution is move to WLM 2012 version. I am using it right now, no problem for receiving email and sending email, only the calendar and Contacts no longer sync.
