Audio and Video on Websites in IE 11

I have searched and searched for a way to embed either Audio or Video onto my websites. I need the HTML code for both of these.

I know there are a lot of tutorials on Youtube, but none I have found actually work. I used to have a simple one liner that worked great, but since IE11 it does NOT work anymore.

If anyone has these I would appreciate some help. Thank you

Hi Huffman,

Temporary workaround, although not really advised as previous versions are NOT as secure

Do you actually need IE11 for anything else, other browsers are available

You could just uninstall it and use the older version it worked on

IE 11 is what came with Windows 7 and I have never thought about changing it.

Hi Huffman,

W7 comes with IE8 as the default,
later versions are installed via windows updates
Your comment that since ie11 was installed it dont work, was what led me to the workaroud

If you check in Installed updates -
IE11 theres an installed date, if that was the same time that your problem started - remove it
(it will revert to latest previously installed version, 8/9 or 10)

If you are building a website that is visible to the general public, you should make it work for all recent versions of all the common browsers - IE, FireFox, Chrome etc, including Edge on Win10.

Reverting to a previous IE just to make the site OK for you will not make the site work for others using IE11.

When I used to build websites years ago, I found IE to be the worst for standards compliance, needing workarounds in the code.
