Password manager to use with IE 11 to replace buggy LastPass?

We've been using LastPass as our password manager for the last couple years on our office computer running IE 11 on Windows 7. It kinda worked, but was very buggy and was hard to use for a general (non-techy) users.

Then yesterday after installing a batch of recent Windows updates when I click the Last Pass Vault link it would open this page and hang up indefinitely:

I tried reinstalling the plug-in ... Contacted their support ... That didn't help.

So do you know of any password managers that would work with IE 11 on Windows 7 and be more user friendly than LastPass?

PS. We have to use IE 11 because of the group policy restrictions on that computer. Firefox or Chrome do not seem to work with GPOs.

Suggesting any alternate program especially a password manager is open to subjective interpretation, but doing a google search for "password managers that would work with IE 11 on Windows 7 and be more user friendly than LastPass?" seems to put Dashlane ahead of LastPass. There's been some anxiety because Logmein bought LastPass and they seem to be trying but they aren't known for their good business practices.

While you're deciding, there are three things you can try and either try them one at a time or together:

    • Disable the plug-in.

    • As of up to a year ago LastPass doesn't do well with IE's enhanced security; Go into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Internet Options and select the Advanced Tab > Scroll down to Security and look for Enable Enhanced Protected Mode make sure it's unchecked, you will need to restart your machine.

    • There is also an Enable Protected Mode checkbox at the bottom of the Security Tab make sure it to is unchecked. Also needs restarted.

Disabling the last two will decrease your security, but it may also speed up your decision to change if they don't work.

Firefox or Chrome do not seem to work with GPOs because they aren't designed to, it can be done but it takes a bit more effort.

Yeah, thanks. I tried Dashlane and liked it. I'm in the process of switching now. They have SO MUCH better UI than LastPass. It was one of those aha moments for me.

That's good news! Glad to hear it's working better now.
