Request for help finding a URL organizer

Greetings, I'm new to the forum.

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a URL organizer for Windows 7. Right now, I basically just drag links from Firefox to a folder, but I have hundreds and they're not categorized or searchable.

I've hunted around for an application that would allow me to drag links from a web browser, categorize and search. But, all the ones that I've found are either very old, poorly designed or simply don't work. I've tried Evernote, but the free version doesn't allow for this kind of functionality of a direct drag-n-drop.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

Hello dtoxx & welcome to Seven Forums.
Have you tried looking at bookmark extensions for Firefox?

I keep my bookmarks backed up and synchronized courtesy of the Opera online link facility, which can also be accessed from other browsers...

Opera Link | Access your favorite Web sites everywhere

Firefox has some facility (doubtless courtesy of an extension) to back up to Google Bookmarks I always believed, although I have heard that Mozilla are currently beta-testing a sync' facility similar to what Opera already offer.

Other than that there are some paid for software suites; but I know of none that are any good in the freeware arena.

Thanks very much for the replies. Some of the FF extensions look promising.

Also, I like Opera - perhaps that would be a nice switch...

Try Xmarks in the Firefox addons. This allows you to store your bookmarks in folders you create, search through them and also you can syncronise them between machines.

Used it for years and very good in my opinion :)
