Browser Redirecting

Hi.......I am running Windows 7 on a HP laptop (probook 6555B). I am running into an odd problem. Any website that I happen to be on will be suddenly and automatically redirected to what looks to be the google search page. This happens several times a session and it happens on all browsers that I have used (chrome, firefox, internet explorer). I have used Malwarebytes and various anti-virus software to eradicate that problem, but it keeps happening. I can't help thinking that it is a problem associated with Windows 7, since it doesn't happen with 8, 8.1, or 10. Has anyone experienced this and solved the problem. If so, I would love to know how.

You need to check each browser to see if any suspicious browser extensions are running. If so, disable or remove them. See if that fixes the problem. Also, your HOSTS file may have been hijacked - if so, it could be redirecting your browser to other pages than what you want.

Try downloading and running Opera, a browser that you haven't listed. Hopefully you can surf with no problem using a browser that you haven't yet tried.

Most browsers you can run with no addons and see if it happens then it will tell you if that's the problem most have a link in the start menu to run it

apart from the suggestions above I would advise you to install uBlock add-on & no script add-on on Firefox & check if you're still facing the issues (disable all other addons) - on this specific browser. Have you tried private browsing option as well ?

Your problem reminds of an issue dated over 12 years ago when I had XP. I was infected by Trojan back then though. Bitdefender team helped me remove the virus back then, they sent me an customized version of their script to remove trojans. Since you said, your AV didn't detect any problem, it could be a different reason though
