IE11 configuration, start page and search engine issues

I had to reinstall the wife's win7 home OS. With IE11 I have been unable to change the start page to "about:blank" from msn.com. Additionally when trying to get the more search providers "404 - file or directory not found" is returned.
I have tried several registry tweeks and disabled DOMstorage to no avail.

Any help will be appreciated, John.

Open Control Panel & select Internet Options, when that opens, look under the General tab & you should be able to change the Home Page to what you want. Of course you will have to put in the full internet address for your desired home page.

Sorry that info that was here was for the wrong thread. I am having modem problems & have to get info in when it is actually working. So I am sorry if confused you.

Editing the "start page" registry key in safe mode solved the first problem.
