Windows Live Mail now gone so need to access locally saved emails

Hi friends,
After a complete restore following a disk crash, I restored my data files including my emails folders. But when I tried to reinstall Windows Live Mail from Essentials I discovered the software was no longer available. No big problem and happy to use any email software, BUT we have so many emails saved in local email folders from our years of happily using Windows Live Mail. I have the emails but I don’t know how I can access them. And many of them relate to my wifes terrible and ongoing cancer journey and I could really do with getting access to them again in case we need to lookup some importamnt info. We have btinternet email addresses and use Yahoo web mail but preferred to use Windows Live Mail as it was so nice any easy.

Can anyone help me figure out how I access these old Windows Live Mail emails, maybe importing them etc. I really have no care about what email software we have to use.

Cheers everyone
Mark

Hello Markmarkmark
Windows live mail produced files in .eml format. It is possible to convert these files to a different file format. Convert them to pdf format for reading in a pdf viewer.

There are still third party sites that have windows live essentials for download but they are not done by Microsoft so there is a risk with using them.
