Multiple downloads of the same emails from email sever (AT&T U-Verse)

My ISP is AT&T U-Verse and I am using Windows Live Mail 2012 as my email software. I have recently began experiencing multiple occurrences of downloading of numerous emails which I had already received. I have gone through my Inbox and deleted many of these repeatedly downloaded emails, only to have them downloaded again. Is there a setting in Windows Live Mail (2012) that I need to look at? This is getting really frustating

    Hi Don Hamilton,

    Welcome to SevenForums!

Did you enabled the "Leave a copy of messages on server" option in your account in Windows Live Mail?

To check, right-click on the account's name found on the left pane of Windows Live Mail. Select "Properties" and click on "Advanced" tab.

You will most likely receive duplicate messages if you cancelled the synchronization process on 1st try to sync your account in Windows Live Mail. Also, it's possible POP settings on your email provider's website is set to download all messages even though you have already downloaded the emails.

Your specs indicate multiple AV/malware program on your computer. Do you have email scanning enabled on one or more of them that provide real time protection?

Go through the settings on each and see if that is enabled and turn it off. If that resolves your issue, try enabling it in one and see if the issue persists. I wouldn't advise leaving AV scans on incoming email turned off, my suggestion was for troubleshooting only. I also don't advise multiple email scanners enabled. More is not better, at least, not in this case.
