    Getting lots of timeouts mainly using Chrome


    Previously I would get timeouts on all websites but that has quietened down. Now it is all sorts of websites such gmail, sevenforums, LastPass, Stackoverflow and others but it clears up after a while. Websites on other tabs are at usable the same time as the problem. I mainly use Chrome though I have seen it on IExplorer.

    Maybe i should have put this in networking. The mobile devices and TV using the same WiFi (the transmitter is upstairs) have no problems. It is JCOM and a cable internet.

    Do you do a regular cleanup of Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, Cache etc?

tracert timeouts on USB modem

I am using a USB modem in 32-bit Win7. It works fine for browsing etc, ping, nslookup. But tracert reports a timeout for everything but the final hop. It makes no difference if I turn off Windows Firewall. If I put the modem in a router connected to the PC, then tracert from the PC works fine....
