    Stop Streaming Videos

I've tried the FF hlep sites to no avail. Maybe someone here can help.

I need to stop these streaming videos on pages like the WashPost. Yesterday my wife left a tab open on the main page and it used up 1GB of data and we only have 20GB/mo. I've got the FlashPlayer add-on but these are not flash players, they are real time streaming videos. I seem to be able to stop them on my computer with FF, but my wife doesn't pay attention and leaves them run for hours and doesn't even watch them.

Any ideas or even send me somewhere I can find a clue. FF doesn't seem to want to help.

Check this out: 5 best video blocker extensions for your browser

I can't comment from having personally used these products, but perhaps there will be something there that will be helpful.

    Hi DogT

I just tried this site at washing post with the TOR Browser as I use that for security purposes and anonimity. I am able to have all streaming media blocked and only except what I want. TOR uses FireFox base as it's browser. It has some nice built in security features but may be more then what you want. If you want a look its at Tor Project | Privacy Online
Also I run my regular FF and TOR and can run them both at the same time

    Thanks Rainner,
Well, I sort of read the wife the riot act and for now she is behaving. I'm sure trying to get here to integrate TOR into her life would be impossible. She can't even deal with her iPhone and that's supposedly 'intuitive'. I've told her in the past not to leave tabs open especially on news pages, but she forgets. I just have to keep an eye on her usage. I've got NetWorx and also my wireless router keeps track of each MAC. What it mostly is, is when there's a special event like Florence or the McCain funeral, the WPO starts streaming the video real time and unless one is careful to turn it off, or at least close the page/tab it just keeps churning down data.
