Which version of FireFox should I use

Hi, I am still using FF v 47.0.10, I know it's a few years old. I need to update because of notices from certain site that say I need to. I am very happy with what I have, but want to use a version that is tried and proven, as you can guess I am not concerned about having the latest, just one that will give me the smoothest update.

Either FF v 52 ESR or FF v 60 ESR would do. v 62.0.2 is the latest.

Thanks T but I was looking for a DL site that looks a little different, one that just lets me click on up-date to V52 On this one you kindly posted, I would Save firefox-52.9.0esr.win64.sdk.zip Then what. I am 72 now and forgot a lot of what I knew. How do I use this to up-date and save everything. I do not see an install option.

    it's a bitch getting old...

No that's the wrong one. First off you need to check if your version on Firefox. Click on Help and then about. Look for it to say either 32 bit (possibly blank) or 64-bit. Now under the link I provided click on win64 if it says 64-bit and win32 otherwise. The files beneath each of the folders are arranged by language. Here in the states you probably want en-US. You will find the download in that folder. Download the file and then run it following the upgrade prompts.

This one was very easy to install. It installed a 64 bit version compatible with Win 7.

Careful with those alternative download sites. If you use them be sure to scan the download at Virus Total. Some of these sites may repack the executable with malware and adware crap.

If the download isn't from the original source, then be leary.
