Block Gmail from being Recalled?
I Googled this but found only on how to recall an email. I would like to prevent emails from being recalled.
Any idea on how? Back story: twice now we’ve received emails where two people have read them, and agree on what the emails say and mean. But when we went back to reference them, they were both gone on both of our computers. I know I didn’t delete them; no question. And the other person is as equally sure. But they’re gone. I can only assume they were recalled and I'd like to prevent that. . |

There is no such thing as "recall" an email, once you've sent it, it'll be delivered into the recipent's mailbox without any chances for the sender to stop it. Much less to delete it from someone else inbox.
If mails suddenly dissapear it may mean that you deleted them or your data file got tampered with, or someone else got access to your account. My guesses would be that a system restore deleted rollbacked the data store on your local machine (and it's gone from the server by now) or if using IMAP some rule or antispam or the like deleted it. If using an Exchange server the administrator could also access your mail. |

Are you using an email client? If so the email client is probably configured to leave emails on the server. Which means if you delete an email, it's not deleted, but only gone from the email client. You'd have to actually login into gmail's website and delete it there. I would look in your email client for email retention settings.

Thanks Alejandro85 and F22 Simpilot. I was thinking there had to be a way to ‘time bomb’ an email to maybe self-delete whether or not it was recalled. The person’s girlfriend is reportedly very tech savvy.
Besides that I didn’t delete the email, I had forgotten, until F22 Simpilot reminded me, that I did go to gmail and check there (I use Outlook 07 on both computers) when I discovered I was gone in both Outlooks. (This happened a couple of months ago, but the curiosity finally got to me.) It wasn’t there, either. I guarantee I hadn’t been in gmail for a while and definitely didn’t delete it while looking for it. I guess I’ll chalk this up as a great email mystery… . |

But that's only a lie from the web page. The mail is really never sent while it's counting, and when it expires, then it proceeds to deliver the mail. There is no way to "recall" an email.

Just a quick reply for you... ProtonMail has this feature in which they delete it after a certain time who ever you've sent it to, also you can password protect and encrypt the mail. The service is free with upgrade able features... located in Switzerland.

Gmail: Sending to "MyAccount.@gmail.com" (with a dot) fails Hello, I'm using the old Gmail Chat. A long time ago I added my own account to the Chat List so that I'd be able to send myself a message from that list. I had to add a "." (dot) after the User Name; - instead of "MyAccount@gmail.com", "MyAccount.@gmail.com". In the last few days,... |

Bad Block I have a movie file (3.84GB) that I downloaded, and want to move it to a new location, but each time I try it fails. Apparently, it not because of something being wrong with the movie itself, because it works fine when playing. but the error dialog says that it can't read from the file or source. ... |
