Google reCAPTCHA no longer working under Firefox 56

This began randomly 2 days ago and happens on any site that uses ReCAPTCHA- it either will not load at all and eventually gives an error about being unable to connect, or it takes about a minute to load as a jumbled mess of images and code.

Malware scans with Malwarebytes & SAS have come up clean so that is not likely to be the cause. Clearing browser cache did not fix it. A restart did not fix it. Disabling uBlock, NoScript, etc does not clear the issue so they don't seem to be blocking the server all of a sudden. The fact it happens on all sites shows it's not a site-specific issue. I have not installed or updated any browser plugins in months.

I also just checked IE, it's working in that(and it's the same version that came installed on this PC so it's YEARS out of date) so nothing is blocking the service outside of the browser.

Did Google recently change the service to no longer work with 56? I have refused to update past due to several plugins I like, mainly Classic Theme Restorer, not working "on purpose" with any version past this(as it seems Mozilla deliberately killed compatibility or functionality of several cosmetic plugins)

Under help try restart with add-ons disabled.

That worked. Manually disabling a few led me to Ghostery being the issue, even though it doesn't appear to actually be blocking anything at all on these pages but I'm not sure it's one I really need with NoScript and uBlock running too.

    Hi Diosoth,

As your on an old version of FF, not a good idea, lot of security fix's missing

Try another FF offshoot browser, Waterfox or Palemoon, see if those features are available there.
If you want to really dig about in them for customisation purposes you will need to change attributes in the about:config folder -- read up on it first
